Introduction
Amazon defines variations as the range of products selling under one ‘parent’ listing. The variations (or ‘child’ listings) are related and similar products that can differ in attributes, such as size, colour, or flavour. With the help of such a parent–child listing, you can group your available product range under a single listing and give customers the freedom to select the desired attributes without navigating to another listing.
How to list multi-variant listings in Marketplace Connect.
1. Open Marketplace Connect: (Single Edit)
2. Select Amazon Marketplace > Select product > Choose Category/Product Type > Select variation theme > Activate your listing to publish to Amazon
Note: Ensure that the Variation Theme you select mirrors the Variation Setting of your product in Shopify or Marketplace Connect.
For example, if your product is set up with 'Color' as the first option and 'Size' as the second, select 'ColorSize' or 'Color-Size' from the list of supported Amazon Variation Themes. If 'Size' comes first and then 'Color', select 'SizeColor' or 'Size-Color'.
How to Split Child SKUs into Individual Listings
In some cases, merchants may prefer to list child SKUs as individual listings on Amazon.
1. Open Marketplace Connect: (Single Edit)
2. Select Amazon Marketplace > Select Product > Choose Category & Product type > Select most appropriate option > Skip the variation theme
Activate the child SKU's you want to list individually and publish to Amazon
Using variations effectively on Amazon can help streamline your listings and improve the shopping experience for customers. Whether you choose to list variations under a single parent listing or as individual child SKUs, Marketplace Connect provides the tools you need to manage your product catalog efficiently on Amazon.
